Albury Park 06/09/2010
6th Sep - Lake fishing well, recent weedcut here, 4th this season, although clarity has been lost to a brown stain. Plenty of action to dries - sedges, daddies, grhe, whilst below the surface, BFDs and buzzers scoring. River in excellent form, plenty of fish coming to dries, chiefly klinkhammer, sedges, Adams, CDC patterns and grhe. An excellent head of wild browns now developing in the river beats, following improvements to width revision in recent winters. In the 6 days to 5th September, 78 lake rainbows and 52 river browns were recorded. 13lb 4oz rainbow to Adam Greaves on a nymph; 9lb 8oz rainbow to Michael hall on a Black BFD; 9lb 8oz and 5lb 12oz rainbows for Mike Finn (19th Aug) to size 16 GRHEs. Next 'free tuition' events will be Ladies Days at Vale End (8th Sept) - Fully Booked on 30 participants! - then on 19th Sept, a Juniors teaching day, also at Vale End.

Powder Mills 06/09/2010
6th Sep - Recent stocking after the water has cooled has boosted the sport here. Up to now, fishing has been very difficult. Water clearing following an algal bloom, post weedcut. 8 fish taken in the week to 5th Sept. First brace taken by Colin Spicer. Flies: expect Daddies to start scoring this week, also try an Orange Spinner, along with WAEF, leaded phantom, BFD and dry sedge. Anglers must start with a minimum of 4 fish tickets. River section working well to selection of dries and nymphs. One ticket per fish caught on the river sections; two tickets per fish from the lake as normal.

Syon 06/09/2010
6th September: Fishing has been good with dries taking many fish when conditions are overcast with 165 fish taken week ending 5th September (163 week before) including a 6lb 4oz for Keith Plummer, best for the month was 11lb for Howard Staddon on a Hopper. Weed cutting (hopefully the last of the year) is now all but done. Best patterns are small nymphs including Diawl Bach, PTN, Buzzers and BlueFlash Damsels, but Dry patterns have done extremely well again including Black Hoppers, Black Gnat, Daddies and Klinkhammer emerger. PLEASE NOTE THE FISHERY CLOSING TIMES DISPLAYED ON THE FISHERY OR ON THE SYON PARK WEB PAGE. Stay too long and you risk getting locked in by security!

Vale End 06/09/2010
6th Sep - Fishing well recently, 69 trout caught in the week to 5th September. 8 fish bag for C Bailey (28th Aug) to BFDs. 12lb 8oz rainbow for William Beadle (21st Aug) to a BFD from Mill Lake - largest fish taken at Albury for 3 years we think. 11lb 3oz rainbow for Peter White (18th Aug), Cats Whisker. 10lb rainbow for Amelda Blignaut (20th Aug) on a Montana Nymph, from Mill Lake. 7lb 11oz rainbow for Adrian Dooley on a Buzzer. 6lb rainbow for Ben Siddons (1st Aug) to a BFD. Top patterns BFDs in olive or black, GRHE with a goldhead or emerger style during hatches. Four tickets to start your day now. River beats a useful diversion in the heat of the day, access for all tickets to the river section. For the very best river fishing, consider a season on the Park Syndicate, where you can catch and release river browns - one or two places left. Ladies Day here on 8th Sept; Juniors Day here on 19th Sept.

Weston 06/09/2010
6th Sep - Still superb clarity on each lake here. Main Lake free of any weed problems; Wood Lodge Pool been fishing brilliantly well in recent weeks. Millhouse Lake was weedcut 19th Aug, fishing well to buzzers now. Sedge hatches providing some really exciting rises last couple of hours, otherwise, damsels and buzzers forming best part of the diet. Wood Lodge offers best prospect of a fish on warm days. Carpark end of Main Lake reliable to dry fly, fish often coming short though. In the 6 days to 5th Sept, 87 lake rainbows were recorded on catch returns. 11lb 5oz rainbow for Fred Elliott, size 14 GRHE; 11lb 0oz rainbow for Marcus Courtney (1st Aug) from Wood Lodge Pool, to a Blue Flash Damsel; 9lb rainbow for Aaron Snell (1st Aug) to a Cats Whisker; 8lb rainbow for Paul Walker (27th Aug) Sunk Grey Wulff. From returns received, Albury waters produced a fish catch total of 294 in the 6 days to 5th September. Four tickets to start your day now.
